Over the years I've been developing an interest in exploitation filmmakers and 42nd Street cinemas. Grindhouse Glory is the documentary I've been waiting for.

we have new stuff on our myspace page as well. myspace.com/lamerekords sorry we don't update this page too much we are busy filming. xoxo brenna lee roth/ ass. producer www.toxicshock.tv/news/2006/12/11/grindhouse-glory/LAST LITTLE DIRTY CORNER OF HOLLYWOOD EXPOSED: “GRINDHOSE GLORY” DOCUMENTS THE GRINDHOUSE ERA OF THE 60’S – 80’s CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Magic Eight Ball Productions today released its 5 minute trailer Grindhouse Glory, the first-ever feature documentary to capture original director commentary and accurately reflect the Grindhouse/drive-in films of the late 60's – early 80's. The film features numerous interviews with filmmakers who worked "below the radar" of mainstream Hollywood at the time, churning out the future cult classics of exploitation cinema. "You see what Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, and Rob Zombie are producing today? Their ideas come from the original Grindhouse films," said Litz, the producer/director of Grindhouse Glory. "The stories I've collected from the Grindhouse directors are a piece of history. In watching it, you get to explore of the last little dirty corner of Hollywood." Litz’ interest in Grindhouse films started in adolescence, when he would troll video stores for copies of "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" and "Werewolves on Wheels". His concept for the trailer originated out of his continued fascination with these films and their directors. "The 60's and 70's were a time of tremnedous social change, as we all know. These films echoed that in their own unique way. These films are cinematic anarchy--the equivelant of punk rock. You will see the sexual revolution, the drug era, ant-vietnam sentiment...all expressed un-apologetically in these films." Brought together for the first time in Grindhouse Glory are these directors: Don Edmonds, famous for "Ilsa Shewolf of the SS"; David Durston, director of "I Drink Your Blood"; Jeff Lieberman, director of "Squirm," Richard Compton, director of "Macon County Line" John "Bud" Cardos director of "Kingdom of the Spiders" and Greydon Clark, director of "Satan's Cheerleaders". William Smith, a prolific actor with many Grindhouse credits, rounds out the roster. In the trailer, raucous interviews with the directors combine with a barrage of outrageous film clips for a truly "gonzo" expereince. Gore, violence, sex...it's all here. "You've really got your hands on something," said Don Edmonds to Litz. "I really was impressed. Don't, and I mean DO NOT, give up on making this film." Litz plans to turn the 5 minute trailer into a 90-100 minute feature. "The time is right for a documentary about the grindhouse/drive-in era", Litz says. "I definitely think there is an audience hungry for the subject matter. We have been seeing lack-luster Hollywood re-makes of grindhouse classics, and the real fans are growing tired of them. They want the real deal. 'Grindhouse Glory' will give viewers the real story behind their favorite cult classics, told by the directors themselves". Litz’ film comes months ahead of the release of a new Quentin Tarrantino/Robert Rodriguez film, called "Grindhouse" a feature film structured as an homage to the genre. About Magic Eight Ball Productions: Magic Eight Ball Productions, Inc. is a production company owned and operated by David Litz. Mr. Litz, a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, has shot projects for Columbia Pictures, Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, History Channel, ESPN, Speedvision, Disney Channel, Spike TV, and many others. His company has also produced infomercials, commercials, and corporate image pieces. CONTACT: Brenna Lee Roth 330-904-4562 lamerekords@hotmail.com David Litz dutch@litzfilms.com

Hey Brenna, Ed, Goon, Eddie and Stuart: Jeffrey Giles of Millennium Films, here.
Brenna, this looks like an amazing project and I commend you for taking the helm.
Stuart, big fan of all things Rue Morgue.
Ed, just checking out the site now. Consider me an avid reader from here on out.
In case any of you look up Millennium Films and feel the need to ask, I don't know what the hell went wrong on Wickerman. I blame it on a lack of vision on, well, everyone's part. Including mine.
Either way, I'm looking forward to this doc. Brenna, let me know if I can be of any help.
Hang in there.
Jeffrey

Hello all!
I just heard about this film today, and I've gotta say, I'm pumped!
I've been into grind house films since I was lil kid, when my mom would bring me to the drive in to see some films that SOME may say were inappropriate for a four year old, like say Zombie, House by The Cemetary, Cannibal Holocaust, Ilsa, etc.
Then, there was of course "Creature Double Feature" out of Boston, which I swear to god, showed a godzilla flick and Squirm every single week.
I've been hooked on these films to this day, from the typical list of "grind house", to "blacksploitation", to the Russ Meyers, to even Troma films more recently.
Just wanted to hop in and say I'm really looking forward to this documentary, and all the depraved, gory, deviant, and wonderful memories I'm sure it will bring back!

Any news on a Region 1 DVD release date yet? I've seen the trailer and now I can't WAIT for the doc itself!! I'm chomping at the bit!! Hurry up and finish will ya! Once it's finished will I only be able to get it through the Grindhouse Glory website? Or will Subversive Cinema, or Blue Underground, or Something Weird, or Synapse be making it available? I hope it's one of those companies 'cause that way I'd be able to get it and I REALLY want to get it!! (In case you hadn't figured that out by now ) mburlock
